Agribusiness - Socially responsible agricultural suppliers are crucial to providing economic opportunities for the millions of smallholder farmers living in poverty. Artisanal - Mission-driven crafts companies provide economic opportunities to artisans in emerging markets by connecting them with global consumer markets.
Base of the Pyramid Services (BoP) - Many products and services targeted toward people at the BoP improve their livelihoods and although them to cut costs and increase savings. Consumers save on kerosene costs by purchasing Barefoot Power's quality, affordable lighting products.
Innovations in Finance - Entrepreneurs who receive access to business finance are able to achieve greater financial security, increase incomes and progress out of poverty. Smallholder farmers and rural enterprises who lease from Juhudi Kilimo are able to invest in productive assets like dairy cows, drip irrigation systems, and modern beekeeping equipment. Upon full payment of the lease, the assets become the farmer’s property and can be used as collateral for working capital loans and, in turn, further business expansion.
