Gone Rural
Background
Established in 1992 to develop the potential of rural women in Swaziland, Gone Rural facilitates the production of unique handicrafts using traditional Swazi skills and locally available, sustainable, natural materials. It maintains educational and social initiatives that focus on increasing the life expectancy of women, the primary victims of HIV/AIDS in the region.
Gone Rural's Partnership with GBF
GBF provided Gone Rural with a loan to finance the company’s purchase order with TJ Maxx. With this loan, Gone Rural will be able to purchase products from producers, purchase dye for raw materials, continue purchases from the farmers, maintain its shipments, preserve its relationship with its buyers, and lay the groundwork for future growth.
Gone Rural's Impact
Through its activities, Gone Rural not only creates employment for over 700 rural Swazi women, but also provides substantial social benefit to the communities where it works.
