Entrepreneurs, Producers, and Consumers

GBF engages the poor as:

Entrepreneurs

GBF supports initiatives that provide those who do not benefit from conventional models of economic growth with the tools to achieve economic empowerment for themselves. They offer training, capital and mentorship to enable individuals to develop and launch viable and sustainable enterprises. These ventures not only engage and support their owners, but also create growth in their communities, providing needed services as well as jobs.

Producers

GBF works with organizations that create opportunities for the poor to access steady sources of income. These activities enable individuals to earn a dependable livelihood to support themselves and their families. Just as importantly, the security of regular income offers a basis on which to plan for the future, providing the economically marginalized with the means to invest in the future of their children and their communities.

Consumers

GBF’s partners establish enterprises that provide crucial services that the poor of developing countries often have to do without. These organizations may offer underserved areas access to up-to-date crop prices through the internet; affordable, accessible, local healthcare; or low-cost, high quality primary education. The employment opportunities that these enterprises create further support the communities they serve, introducing new avenues for sustainable income generation.
