SELFINA

Lillian Peter, 39, tailoring business owner from Mwanza, Tanzania

Lillian Peter, 39 and married with six young children, has been running a tailoring business in Mwanza, Tanzania since 2004. Through her sales from her business, she earns $100 a month. As a SELFINA client, Lillian is eligible for a loan to buy threads and kanga, printed cloth from East Africa. She plans on expanding her tailoring business to include a larger variety of cloths. GBF’s investment will help SELFINA increase the scale of its services, broaden its geographic reach, and deepen its impact in poor rural communities.
